Tummy Tuck Cosmetic Surgery – Can it help you achieve a firmer abdomen?

Tummy tuck cosmetic surgery, also known as abdominoplasty is performed to remove excess fat and skin from the abdomen to give it a leaner and firmer shape. Alongside removing excess fat and skin, tummy tuck cosmetic surgery also involves tightening the underlying abdominal muscles to give the abdomen better definition.

Common reasons for having tummy tuck cosmetic surgery.
Pregnancy can stretch the abdominal muscles and skin resulting in permanent loosening and sagging of the abdomen. In such cases tummy tuck plastic surgery can be a good option to achieve a firmer abdomen. However it is advisable that mothers who wish to have more children in the future wait until they have had their future pregnancies before having their tummy tuck surgery as pregnancy can again stretch the abdomen and reduce the benefits achieved through the procedure. Have you considered eyelid cosmetic surgery?

Tuesday, 19 January 2010 05:40 by mike

Eyelid cosmetic surgery, also known as blepharoplasty has gradually been growing in popularity as significant advances have been made in the procedure in recent years. Eyelid surgery can be performed to restore a more useful look by reducing the visible signs of ageing around the eyes.

Ageing can result in the accumulation of excess fat and the dropping of skin around the eyes. This can cause the appearance of saggy and puffy eye bags making one look older and more tired. Eyelid facial surgery involves removing both excess fat and skin around the eyes from both the upper and lower eyelids so that a more youthful look can be restored.

Breast Implant Cosmetic Surgery: Factors That Should Be Considered

Friday, 15 January 2010 05:38 by mike

A common concern that many women have in regards to having breast surgery is whether it will impair their ability to breast feed. Both breast implants and breast lift cosmetic surgery do not impair the ability to breast feed as the milk ducts and areola are left intact.

Having breast surgery performed by an appropriately qualified and experienced cosmetic surgeon reduces the chances of post operative complications. Although both breast implant and breast lift surgery are relatively safe you will have to take into consideration that there will be a recovery period before the full benefits of your cosmetic surgery are realised. Most women are however able to return to work within a few days of having cosmetic breast surgery and after three to four weeks the breasts should not longer be sore. Surgical scars will also continue to fade for a couple of months and although should become minimal will not disappear completely. [More]

Can Liposuction or smart lipo be used to treat gynecomastia?

Tuesday, 22 December 2009 23:28 by plastic-surgeon

Gynecomastia is the name given to the condition in which men develop excessively large mammary glands resulting in breast enlargement. The condition can affect either a single breast or both of them and is sometimes also accompanied by the secretion of milk. Although it is uncertain what is the exact cause of the breast enlargement seen in gynecomastia it is generally thought to result from an imbalance in the sex hormones testosterone and oestrogen.  The condition is particularly common in adolescence and in the elderly which is thought to be due to fluctuations in hormone levels during these specific time periods.
Can liposuction cosmetic surgery help treat gynecomastia? What about Smart lipo? [More]

Have you considered permalip?

Friday, 18 December 2009 03:21 by plastic-surgeon

Permalip is a form of lip augmentation which involves the insertion of a soft solid lip implant which cannot leak or rupture. Permalip was developed after extensive research with an aim to avoid the numerous pitfalls associated with traditional lip enhancement techniques. Due to its success Permalip is now a patented lip implant procedure and is the only CE marked medical device for lip enhancement.

So why are so many people interested in lip augmentation in the first place?
The aim of any lip augmentation procedure is to enhance the aesthetic appearance of the lips by increasing their volume and giving them a fuller and more voluptuous appearance. The lips naturally tend to start losing volume with ageing which is why lip enhancement procedures are typically chosen by patients past the age of 30. On the other hand there is a significant group of individual who wish to have lip implants because they have thinner lips than they prefer which is not due to ageing and simply want to enhance their appearance.
