Hair Loss
RESTORE YOUR CROWNING GLORY...
Hair loss can be a traumatic and an emotionally painful experience for both men and women. Thinning hair is synonymous with ageing and occurs in virtually everyone. Genetics, hair care, hormones, changes within the body and stress can cause people to experience major hair loss at any age, sometimes temporary and sometimes permanent. If you are suffering from hair loss you need to get to the root of the problem with professional help and advice. The solution may be simple, like the use of specialist products or medication or the surgical option of hair restoration.
The Hurlingham Clinic & Spa is working with Dr Michael May of the Wimpole Clinic to offer a comprehensive hair restoration service. Dr May has dedicated over two decades to the science and practice of hair restoration and is at the forefront of medical advances in this specialist field. Thousands of satisfied patients testify to the efficacy of this technique – a technique pioneered and expertly practiced at The Wimpole Clinic with consistently high rates of success.
What is Hair Transplant Surgery?
Male Pattern Baldness. The M shaped recession of hair common in men and occasionally seen in women.
In what type of baldness is this procedure helpful?
We combine shampoo, lotion, mask with medication tailored to requirements of the individual. In addition, we use ultrasonic capillary treatment. We not only stop hair loss fast; we control greasy and/or dandruff prone hair, and restore the quality of beautiful hair.
How long does the hair transplant take?
The patient will be at the surgery for up to six hours and should have set aside a free day. To achieve acceptable density it is likely that a minimum of two sessions will be required.
Do I need time off work after my hair transplant?
There is occasionally forehead swelling after the procedure although everything possible is done to avoid this. The little scabs where the grafts are inserted are visible for seven to eight days and if these cannot be hidden by existing hair then many men do take a few days off work or go on holiday.
How long does it take for the transplanted hair to grow?
The new hair starts to grow between 14 and 16 weeks and will take at least six months for the new hair to make a significant cosmetic difference to your appearance.
What is the cost?
Costs should deter no one from investigating the benefits of recreating the perfect hair line. Typically, at £2,200 the cost of the procedure equates to that of a family holiday – but, of course, unlike a holiday, the benefits of hair restoration are permanent.
